Mego Star Trek Series 2 action figures were released in the late 1970s to early 1980s. These figures are possible left over stock released at a reduced price for quick sale. It is believed that these figures were distributed by Sears, however, I remember seeing these figures in the five and dime stores such as modern day dollar stores. Note the assortment numbers vary from the original issued figures.
Notable differences between the blank-back figures and the regular issue figures are that these figures were released with a flesh-colored pelvis versus the blue pelvis. The emblems on Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are all “fused” to the cloth. Dr. McCoy has darker hair than the original release and matches the color of Capt. Kirk.
